BRIAN MAYFIELD-SMITH

For more than 25 years Brian Mayfield-Smith has been a leading racehorse trainer. When he moved from Queensland to New South Wales he was the leading trainer for 3 seasons, ending the 33 year reign of TJ Smith.
Brian and his wife Maree have a passion for Wildlife Conservation and spent two years living in Africa. In 1997 Brian successfully returned to racehorse training at Flemington Racecourse. His stables are located at Flemington Racecourse next to the 3200m starting position of the Melbourne Cup.

-  average winning strike rate 25%
-  2000/2001 season best strike-rate of the top 20 Victorian trainers
-  2000/2001 season best strike-rate of the top 20 Australian trainers

-  2002/2003 season best strike-rate of the top 20 Australian trainers
